The limit on the amount of hair follicles that can be transplanted at a single time depends on the needs of our patient. If the balding area is big or there are several balding areas, the quality of the hair follicles in the donor area should be evaluated. Therefore, the maximum of hair follicles to be transplanted at once is directly related to the number of hair follicles in the back of the scalp.
If the hair follicles in the nape are not enough, and there is enough hair follicle in the chest or the beard areas have enough hair follicles, even if the quality of hair in those areas is not good, we can use those areas as the donor sites. The maximum hair follicles that can be transplanted are around 12,000.
