What is Folliculitis?

Folliculitis is the inflammation of the hair follicles, and can be seen in all hair bearing areas of the body. It is a skin disease that causes inflammation, and is widely seen in Turkey. It happens particularly in the beards areas of our male patients, the hair roots of women, and those who have the hair on their bodies, and legs removed. Folliculitis is very common in these areas.

It is also known as ingrown hair. The symptoms are very visible as redness, inflammation, and tiny scars.

I should emphasize one more time that this condition is very common in the hair bearing skin. Especially in the last few years, the frequent use of cosmetic products on the hair, and people trying to care more for their hair causes an increase in the number of folliculitis cases we encounter.
