Technically there are no differences between the hair transplantation procedures in female or male patients. However, the hair loss in women and men differ, and the frequency of the transplantation varies according to that.
The donor area, which is usually the nape, is different in men and women. Men have a narrower donor area, whereas women have a wider donor area.
Women usually require denser hair transplantation in the frontal area, and less dense transplantation in the back. In men the frontal and the top areas require dense hair transplantation whereas the back requires less dense transplantation.
