There are not many differences between the hair transplantation operations in women and men. The main difference is the decision as to whether shave the female patient’s scalp or not, as also done in hair transplant operations in male patients. We talk to our patients, and decide on what to do: if to shave the scalp, make their hair shorter or not, and then proceed with the hair transplant operation. If we do not shorten their hair, then the operation might take longer than the operations in male patients; it might take 1 – 1,5 hours longer on average. Other than this, there are no particular complications or cons our female patients would experience.
