Scalp diseases are often noticed when the scalp is inflamed, irritated, red or itchy. We can actually count some hair loss as scalp diseases. The male type/pattern hair loss is the most frequent one in scalp diseases. Even though in male pattern baldness it is only the hair that is lost, bearing in mind that the hair grows on hair bearing scalp, it means that the areas has gone through some changes. We can say that male type hair loss is one of the most widely seen scalp diseases.

Other than these, eczema, psoriasis, childhood scalp ringworm, childhood fungal scalp diseases, trichotillomania in children who pull their hair, are commonly seen in Turkey.
