It is natural to experience itching or observe redness during the healing process post hair transplant. Almost all of our patients experience the same symptoms after surgery. Your skin will become red and then itch during the healing stages. This itch is not very different to the itch one feels when one has a small cut in one’s hand. You can see all of these reactions of skin as part of the healing. They are not negative symptoms at all.
I tell my patients that they can gently pat their scalp using their palm. Yet, if the itching is very unpleasant, we can prescribe our patients with mild corticoid creams or sprays. The easiest and quickest remedy, on the other hand, is washing the hair often.
