How Many Months Does the Hair Take to Grow after a Hair Transplantation Procedure in Women?

Hair grows at similar rates in both men and women. Our natural and existing hair grows 1 – 1.5 centimeters per month. After a hair transplantation, our hair grows at the same rate: 1 – 1.5 centimeters per month.

However, when you have a hair transplantation, your transplanted hair will not grow immediately. The transplanted hair will start falling out about ten days to one month after hair transplant. This is a shock shredding. They start growing back one month after they shred, and two months after the hair transplantation. In about 5 to 6 months, 60 – 70% of the transplanted hair grows back. In a year following the hair transplant, 100% of the transplanted hair grows back. Between one year and one year and a half after the surgery, the transplanted hair get thicker.

In other words, the transplanted hair start growing about 2 – 2.5 months’ post-surgery, and a better result (full head) is possible after one year.
