What is the Relationship Between the DHT Hormone and Hair Loss?

The DHT hormone is a powerful derivative of the testosterone which is known as the male sex hormone. Male hormones promote the development of male features (features associated with males) in the body such as deepening of the voice, growth of hair on certain body parts, growth of the beard, growth of armpit hair, and the increase in the muscle mass. However, interestingly, the hair follicles on the scalp gradually damaged due to this hormone. The hair follicles shrink and lose their functions, and the hair loss starts. It is not yet known why the hair loss occurs in some men, and does not occur in some others. Scientists suggest some men are genetically more susceptible to hair loss.  We can say that the scalps of some men are more sensitive to the normal rates of DHT in the body, and due to the DHT, hair loss occurs.
