The FUE procedure has several advantages over the FUT.
The FUT involves extracting an elliptical hair strip from the area with hair, and then cutting it into units and transplanting the units. This technique creates a scar between the ears, and we used to suture the scalp together. The results were not always fulfilling because of the scarring and the follicular units not having been cut successfully.
And FUT would sometimes cause the “grass doll/grass head” look that the patients feared having because the method does not always give natural results.
Nowadays FUT is not widely preferred. Instead we use the FUE procedure because there is no suturing, and no scarring, also the results are natural – not like the so called grass doll appearance.
